He is preceded in death by his: daughter-in-law: Vicki Trichell Allen; grandson: T.C. Brady; parents: Andrew Jackson Allen & Pearl Allen; 3 brothers: John, Bill, & Marshall Allen; sister: Helen Pullen.
Mr. Dewey served in the United States Army during WWII. During that time he spent 21 months in Europe, he fought in the Ruhr Pocket, Ingolstadt, Battle of the Bulge, Starbrucken, Rhine River. He served in outfit 648 tank destroyer battalion - Company B. He trained at Camp Buoy & Camp Hood. He was given an honorable discharge at Shelby, Mississippi in 1946. He married Peggy Klick Allen on January 3, 1946. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Providence. He worked for Carroll Sand & Gravel as a mechanic for 12 years. He worked for the Town of Lake Providence for 18 years before he retired in 1986. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dewey is survived by his wife: Peggy Ruth Allen of Lake Providence, Louisiana; son: Ronnie Allen of Swartz, Louisiana; daughter: Marsha Nelson of Lake Providence, Louisiana; son: Rick Allen of Oak Grove, Louisiana; daughter: Rebecca Layton of Swartz, Louisiana; 4 brothers: Rob, Huey, Steve & Aubrey Allen; 2 sisters: Ida Mae Bogus & Annie Dowson; 11 Grandchildren & 19 Great-Grandchildren; numerous neices & nephews.
