Elmen Bingham Welker, son of Elmer and Mary Ellen Welker, passed away Sept. 9, 2015, in Glendale, at the age of 93.

Elmen was born and raised in Safford. He was the sixth of seven children — Marvin, Ronan, Velva, Hazel, Eldon, Elmen and Luella Mae. His twin brother, Eldon, is the only one still living.

Elmen worked for the United States Post Office and the Safford School system. He also worked for the Graham County Sheriff’s Department for many years.

Elmen enjoyed raising animals, farming, team roping, dancing and horse racing.

Elmen and Wyona had four children: Randall, Rex, Donna and Dallas (deceased); and 14 grandchildren.

He spent the past four years living with his daughter, Donna, in Glendale and Randall in Benson.

Services for Elmen will be held in Scottsdale at Christ’s Church of the Valley, 19030 N. Pima Rd., on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015. A viewing will begin at 9 a.m. and the funeral will start at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery at 5 p.m.

Services are under the direction of McDougal’s Caldwell Chapel.
