Chester B. Bryant, age 80, of Alliance passed away at 5:57 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2016 at Crandall Medical Center.
He was born in Globe, Kentucky to Ayers and Martha (Mosier) Bryant on July 12, 1936.
Chester was formerly employed by Alliance Machine for 22 years until retiring in 1996 as a fitter and builder. He also owned and operated several businesses in Alliance including Bryant’s Furniture Store. Chester served as a Pastor for many churches over the years.
He was a member of Maranatha Church of God and Pastor of the Seniors. As a singer and entertainer Chester was founder of “Sounds of Home” gospel group since 2000. For many years he provided Gospel Music at Great Trails Nursing Home in Minerva, Altercare of Alliance, Sterling House and Roselawn Nursing Homes.
Chester is survived by daughters, Connie (Bill) Donohue of Alliance and Kathy (Jeff) Clayton of Columbus; son, Ronald (Debbie) Bryant of Alliance; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christina, Melissa, Billy, Josh, Jeffery, Amanda, Ronald Jr., Scott, Robin and Stephanie; many great grandchildren; brother, Arnold (Mary Edna) Bryant of Alliance; sister, Mary (Art) Kirschman of Champion; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys (Knipp) Bryant, son, Thomas; brothers, Clayton, Ayers, Ray, Richard, Gene, Harold, Sterrill and Jesse; sister, Margaret Bungard.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2016 at Cassaday Turkle Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Knipp officiating. Friends may call 5-7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
