---------------
Daughter of William Pancake Lynd & Virginia Tatum

The earliest record of Sarah can be found in the 1860 Federal Census when she was living with her family in Fayette, Lawrence County, Ohio under the last name Lynn which was a spelling variant for her family name. The census shows her living with her parents and three siblings: Samuel, William H. and Mary E. By 1870, four more siblings were born: Benjamin, Isaac, John & Rosa, but Sarah was missing from this census. It is likely that by this time, she was courting Willis Arthur who she married in 1871. The couple had two children, Fannie & Vinton, who remained in the Lawrence and Scioto County area with their growing families. Sarah and Willis continued to live in Fayette, Lawrence County, Ohio according to the 1900-1920 Federal Census records and when Willis passed away in 1928, Sarah moved in with her son Vinton in Jefferson, Scioto County, Ohio shortly afterwards. At this time, she was reported as Sallie Arthurs, 75 years of age and widowed according to the 1930 Federal Census. She cannot be found in the 1940 Federal Census which suggests that she likely died between 1930-1940. Currently, there are no records online showing her specific death date. Although there are no records showing where she was buried, it is likely that she was laid to rest with her husband who was buried in Arthur Cemetery.
