Vinton Arthur, 81 year old retired timber worker, died at 6:am today at his home, 4351 Dale St., North Moreland. He had been ill with complications and bedfast the last 7 months.
Born Sept. 25, 1874 , he formerly operated a sawmill. He is survived by his wife, the former Bertha Howard, 4 sons: Homer, Jackson Rt1, Henry, Ironton and Amos and Harry, Waynesville, Ohio, 4 daughters, Mrs. Marie Smith and Mrs. Grace Adkins, Waynesville; Mrs. Rosie McGinnis Webbville, KY and Mrs. Carrie Cole, Wheelersburg Rt1, 43 grandchildren, ? 5 great-grandchildren and one - great-great-grandchild.
Mr Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, a daughter and a sister.
He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 PM at North Moreland Christian Baptist Church , with the Rev John Kemper and Rev. Vance Keller officiating. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery under the direction of Erwin-Dodson Funeral Home of Minford.
Friends may call at the residence after 7 tonight.
