Jay D. Hammond, was the youngest of 16 children born to Adam and Adaline Hammond on April 27,1945 in Napa, CA. He died on July 20, 2016 in Olivehurst, CA with his family by his side, after a long battle with cancer.

He was a VERY proud Marine and served in Vietnam. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post 807 and a lifetime member of Forgotten Warriors of Hotel Company 2/3 Vietnam 1965 and the D.A.V. He worked for Beale Air Force Base as the manager of the Rod & Gun Club for 18 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest daughter, Lori Azevedo and several siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, three daughters, 5 grandkids; 7 great-grandkids; brothers and sisters and many nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Forgotten Warriors of Hotel Company 2/3 Vietnam 1965 , 912 Stamp Creek Road, Salem, South Carolina 29676.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 2 pm at Lakeside Colonial Chapel, Marysville.

A Military Honors inurnment will take place at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Road Dixon, CA 95620 on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
