John C. Haslet, 78, died at 11 am Monday at the home of John Siegfried, Warren, PA, where he had been visiting, after an illness of 7 weeks. He was born in Jefferson, Clarion County, on September 3, 1859.
In 1860 he moved with his parents to Franklin and from that time lived here. He was employed at the First National Bank for 52 years, retiring when that bank merged with Franklin Trust Company.
On September 19, 1872, he married Miss Tillie Reeves and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary September 19 last. Surviving the deceased are his wife and a sister, Mrs. Kate Gilliland of Sarnie, Ontario, Canada.
Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at his home, 222 14th Street, with Rev. Dr. Benjamin Bunn Royer officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
