Art Wineinger, 73, of Greenville died the evening of Feb. 1, 2005, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Hailes and Rev. Riley Hamilton officiating. Burial is at Forest Park Cemetery.

The son of Huey and Hester Shelton Wineinger, he was born April 2, 1931, in Ranger. He married Marietta Herring on Dec. 4, 1954, in Durant, Okla.

Mr. Wineinger was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a retiree with 37 years’ service at L-3, formerly known as E-Systems of Greenville. He was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Kathy McKinnon of Garland and Kay Shewmaker of Greenville; a son-in-law, Douglas Shewmaker; two granddaughters, Brandy McKinnon of Miami, Fla., and Tonya Shewmaker of Greenville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Cordelia Wineinger, Leon and Peggy Wineinger and Valton and Margaret Wineinger of Greenville; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Jerry Combs of Greenville; sister-in-law Juanita Wineinger of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dewey Wineinger and one sister, Laverne Lopez.

Pallbearers are Randy Wineinger, Kevin Wineinger, Monty Wineinger, Ronnie Wineinger, Henry Ellis and James Poe.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
