Lura M. Floyd, 92, daughter of John Nelson and Nancy Brigman Nelson was born Feb. 16, 1895, near Montauk. She died June 15, 1987, at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

She was united in marriage to Charlie Floyd Feb. 14, 1915, near Montauk. They had nine children.

Two children, Udolph Floyd and Mattie Floyd Cooper; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Charlie, of Licking; three sons, Udell of Licking, Delmar and Gene of Houston; four daughters, Nettie Evans of Lickingm, Clemmie Morton of St. Louis, Ruth Regy of Springfield and Doris Flowers of Cold Water; 30 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Floyd spend her lifetime in Texas County, where she and her husband reared their family. They spend more than 72 years together, keeping their home near Licking until just a few months ago whey they moved to the Texas County Health Care Center.

Services were Thuusday, June 18, at the First Baptist Church in Licking with the Rev. LeRoy Nixon and the Rev, Robert Gifford officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
