On November 12, 1902, he was united in marriage to Susie Caroline Bain. To this union seven children were born, all of whom survive. They are Earl, of Licking; Lee, of Montauk; Delbert, of Licking; Willie, of Jadwin; Archie, of Montauk; Mrs. Mae Hall, of Manchester, Mo.; and Mrs. Grace Hudson of Fenton, Mo.
He was converted and joined the Hepsoda Baptist Church on December 25, 1930; was baptized on January 3, 1931, and was then made a deacon in the church on February 26, 1931. He attended church and Sunday School faithfully until his health would no longer permit.
Besides his wife and children he is survived by 3 brothers, 6 sisters, 15 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. The brothers are, Ewing, John, and Herman of Montauk; the sisters are Hattie York and Lovie Burns of Licking, Annie Lee Murrie of Salem, Pearl Holland of Montauk, Ruthie King of Licking, Lura Floyd of Raymondville.
He was laid to rest on July 5, 1957, in Patterson Cemetery with services from Hepsoda Church under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home of Salem.
