Stewart A. Jones, 49, of Daly City, Calif., a former resident of Clearfield, died in the Peninsula Hospital and Medical Center at Burlington, Calif., Aug. 10 after a month's illness.
Mr. Jones was born in Clearfield Jan. 25, 1925, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Worrell M. Jones, now of Lancaster, Pa. He was educated in the Clearfield schools and left Clearfield High School after Pearl Harbor of World War II to enlist in the U.S. Navy.
He completed his career with the Navy in June 1970, as a Chief Petty Officer, navigator, submarine service, and following his retirement was employed by the City of San Francisco in the education and rehabilitation field. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Daly City.
Surviving are his wife, Margie, and two sons Larry at home and Ronald in the U.S. Marines. He also leaved a brother, Robert of Chicago, Ill., and his parents.
Memorial services were held in the United Methodist Church at Daly City and at the residence of his parents, 401 Eden Road, Apt. H-1, Lancaster after his ashed were scattered over the Pacific Ocean west of the Golden Gate Bridge Aug. 13.
