Born 3 November 1890 (reg. 1890/18307). Two sons, brothers Robert Guy Chamberlain and Henry Kingston Chamberlain died in WWI. No.2 Outpost Cemetery, Turkey (Gallipoli), includes the graves of 29 men who served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force during the First World War. A further 2 NZEF servicemen who have no known grave are listed on a memorial in the cemetery.

"Spent several months in Egypt after leaving New Zealand with the Main Body. He was wounded on June 6th at Gallipoli, invalided to Pont de Koubeh Hospital, and returned to the trenches on July 4th. He was killed in action on August 8th, 1915. He was a Prefect in 1909, and will be remembered his fine performances as three-quarter back in the Fifteens of 1908 and 1909." (In Memoriam, 1914-1918 [Wanganui Collegiate School]).
