"Spent several months in Egypt after leaving New Zealand with the Main Body. He was wounded on June 6th at Gallipoli, invalided to Pont de Koubeh Hospital, and returned to the trenches on July 4th. He was killed in action on August 8th, 1915. He was a Prefect in 1909, and will be remembered for his fine performances as three-quarter back in the Fifteens of 1908 and 1909."
