ANSON -- Dolris Middlebrook Dean, 75, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at her home.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2006, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Welch, Charlie Middlebrook, and Bill Dean officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence - Adams Funeral Home.

Born April 19, 1931 in Anson, Dolris was a daughter of the late P. B. and Lucille (Flanagan) Middlebrook, Sr. She started working at Pittard Drug Store at the age of 11 and later graduated from Anson High School. Dolris attended Texas Tech University and married Talmadge Dean on June 9, 1949. He preceded her in death in 2000. She worked for the Texas Highway Department and for Dean Surveying as a draftsman. Dolris later was the Anson Chamber of Commerce manager. She also was the "boss" of Dean Real Estate until the time of her death. Dolris was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother (Johnny Middlebrook).

Survivors include: one son, Bill Dean (and wife, Jo Lynn) of Floydada; two daughters, Ann Hiler (and husband, Jimmy) of Gulfport, MS and Jean Thompson (and husband, Shelby) of Abilene; five brothers, P. B. Middlebrook, Jr., of Anson, Bradley Middlebrook of Houston, Charlie Middlebrook of Tomball, Sid Middlebrook of Kingswood, and Shannon Middlebrook of Anson; five sisters, Jean Bryant of Anson, Sally Booth and Brownie McKnight, both of California, Sandy Kenley of Abilene, and Valencia Lane of Montana; seven grandchildren, J. Hiler (and wife, Jennifer), Aaron Hiler (and wife, Hillary), Bryan Hiler (and wife, Candace), Angie Dean, Laura Duke (and husband, Dusty), Shaylee Thompson, and Bradley Thompson; and two great granddaughters, Lynzi and Autumn Hiler.
