Harry Edwin Rushton, Jr., 71, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Garden Villa. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 11, 1945 as the son of Harry E. Rushton, Sr. and Regenia (Wampler) Rushton.
Harry was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. He then went on to continue his career with Indiana University working in the sheet metal shop, retiring after 35 years of service.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW and AFLCIO. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and building and flying model airplanes. He cherished his scooter and motorcycling riding.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon (fiancé, Emmett) Smith; granddaughter, Amanda Smith; one great-grandson on the way; brothers, Larry Rushton (Della), Jerry Rushton (Lynn), and Michael (Susie) Martin; sister, Rona (Bob) Reed; step-mother, Colleen Rushton; half siblings, Delisa (Len), Jan, and Jeff (Linda.)
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Charles Martin, and niece, Monaca Snyder.
