Employed by the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad for many years, Cyr retired in 1969, at which time he and his wife moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He was a communicant at St. James Church in Portsmouth and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Railroad Engi- neers.
Cyr Cormier passed away at age sixty-seven at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover after a short illness. He was survived by his wife of forty-five years, Welanna F. (Vaillan- court) Cormier of 46 Elwyn Road; four daugh- ters, Mrs. Edmay (Cormier) Roy of New Britain, Connecticut, Mrs. Mildred (Cormier) Conway of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Nathaly (Cormier) Vallimont of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Ethel (Cormier) Rees of Otis Air Force Base in Massachusetts; six grandchildren; a brother, Albert Cormier of St- Léonard, New Brunswick, Canada; and six sis- ters, Annie (Cormier) Lebel of Van Buren, Me., Bertha (Cormier) Michaud and Germaine (Cor- mier) Dubé, both of New Britain, Connecticut, and Annette (Cormier) Rioux, Aline (Cormier) Corneau, and Rita (Cormier) Rioux, all of New Brunswick.
Visiting hours were held on Sunday and Mon- day from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Farrell Fu- neral Home in Portsmouth. Funeral services took place on Tuesday with a Mass of Christi- an Burial at Saint James Church at 9am, fol- lowed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
