Died:-On Friday, March 2, 1900, Wm. Carey, of heart disease, aged 44 years at his home near Perrin. Buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, this city, last Sunday at 2 o'clock p. m., Rev. J. D. McClure conducting the services. Deceased was born on the old Carey homestead near Platte City, in April 1856. He was married to Miss M. Drucilla Cook, daughter of A. C. Cook, in May 1880, to which union were born eight children, four boys and four girls, all of whom with the devoted wife, survive him. Also five brothers and sisters to-wit: Robert Carey, Joseph Carey, Platte County; W. Carey, Kansas City; Mrs. David E. Edwards, Valley Falls, Montana, and Mrs. Jeff Parks, Liberty. Funeral services were held at the home place near Perrin at 11 o'clock which were attended by a large number of friends and relatives who followed the remains to their last resting place.
