Waterloo Daily Courier, 7 October 1948: John Wesley Hoser, 89, long time resident of Waterloo and Casebeer Heights, who has been living with a daughter, Mrs. William Dumire, at Balsam Lake, Wis., died there Tuesday at 7 p. m. of complications incident to advanced age. It was learned here Thursday morning by relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. in Balsam Lake. He will be buried there also. A laborer here, Mr. Hosier retired a number of years ago and moved to Balsam Lake to live with his daughter in 1945. He married Ida Olive Bartlett in the early 1880's. She died here about nine years ago. All children of the couple survive, including four sons and five daughters. There are 28 living grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
