Marengo Pioneer Republican, Marengo, Iowa, August 6, 1970: Services For Mrs. Glass, 74 Held Friday. Funeral services for Mrs.Walter Glass, 74, were held Friday, July 31, 1970, at Marengo Memorial hospital, where she had been admitted one day earlier. She had been in ill health for a number of years. The Rev. Gary Dobbins, Ladora Methodist church, officiated at the service. Mrs. Jake A. Valentine was the organist providing two organ selections., "How Great Thou art: and "Beyond The Sunset". Pallbearers were Herman Zahrt, Lloyd Klover, Robert Schoenfelder, Ted Burr, Carl Schafbuch and Freeman Ritchie. Interment was in the Marengo cemetery.

Ethel Dell Glass was born Dec. 20, 1895, the daughter of John and Ida Olive Bartlett Hosier, at Britt, Iowa. She was educated in the Waterloo schools and has been a resident of Marengo since 1942. She had also lived in Cedar Rapids. May 5, 1958, she married Walter Glass at Oelwein. She is survived by her husband and by a previous marriage one son, Wilbur Lewis, Grand Rapids, Mich.; two daughters Mrs. Orrin (Hazel) Gleason, and Mrs. George (Ethel) Daugherty, Marengo; two brothers, Carl and Jess Hosier, both Plover; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Stearns, Mrs. Millie Dumire, Plover; Mrs. Lydia Hodges, Oelwein; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband in 1957, one sister, two brothers and two grandsons.
