Robert J. Myers, 84, of Rockford, Ill., died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born June 4, 1920, in Sycamore, he was the son of Fred and Amelia (Jabe) Myers. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Italy as a mechanic with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Bob farmed in the DeKalb area for nearly 60 years. He enjoyed his citizens band radio and was known as "Farmer".
He is survived by a nephew, Charles Myers of Rockford; a sister-in-law, Bernice Myers of Galesburg; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Agnes, Irene and Ruth; and two brothers, Charles and Bill.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore, with Pastor Patrick Giles of New Life Tabernacle Church officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Honquest Family Funeral Home, North Mulford Chapel, 4205 N. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61111.
