Find A Grave ID

I have been interested in genealogy since I was a child and helped my Grandpa gather family information. I was lucky enough to get his handwritten, and some typed, documentation upon his passing. He was able to trace his family back seven generations, to England. And this was all before the internet. Impressive to say the least. A lot of 'snail' mail and stamps on handwritten envelopes! Living in Connecticut, he visited many cemeteries in New England gathering information and taking photos of headstones of ancestors. As a child, I can remember how "annoyed" my grandmother would get at grandpa for the amount of time he would spend working on the family history. I don't believe she ever traveled with him as he visited cemeteries throughout New England.I enjoy exploring cemeteries near my home in the Chicagoland area, taking photos of headstones, and also fulfilling any requests that may be in my area for information/photos of headstones through It is relaxing and also interesting to think about what the back stories are for those whose headstones I am documenting. Please contact me if you wish to have a memorial which I have set up transferred to you. You may contact me privately at
I do not intentionally set up duplicate memorials. I have found recently that transcribing on my phone, using the Find A Grave app, though quick and easy, means a much greater chance of setting up a duplication. Transcribing in the Web site lessens the duplication error. Please notify me if I mistakenly set up a duplicate memorial, and I will delete my work. Thank you in advance.
