GRADUATE: Ouray High School, Ouray, Colorado.
EMPLOYMENT: Lifelong career in mining. Began working at age 17, at the Idarado Mine in Ouray. Also worked at the Bachelor, The Revenue and Camp Bird mines. Managed mills in Grand Junction, Gunnison, Silverton, Ouray, Idaho Springs, Crested Butte, Breckenridge, Lake City, Colorado, and Dillon, Montana. Hoisting engineer.
MEMBER: Lifelong member of the Catholic Church.
AMONG SURVIVORS: Wife of 30 years Doris Svaldi, son Steve Svaldi of Tacna, Arizona, daughter Kathryn of Fruita, Colorado, grandson Michael (Maggie) Svaldi of Belgrade, Montana, granddaughter Summer Brook Svaldi of Grand Junction, Colorado, Betty Svaldi of Grand Junction, Colorado, and great-grandchildren Christopher, Garrett, and Kristopher.
