David was one of 8 children born to John Williams Esq. 1713-1798 and Anne Roberts 1717-1795 of Saethon Manor, Llanfihangel, Bachellaeth in North Wales.

David was agent to George Devereux Esq. at Saethon Manor and purchased the property from him in 1801. David was himself born and raised at the manor and as such is closely identified with Saethon.

This association was so strong that some confusion entered into the family's pedigree with David and his descendants making claims to a shared lineage. These claims I believe were honest mistakes. However, at the time of this writing no such link can be substantiated.

David's siblings:

Ann Williams (died 1793)
Jane Williams (no dates)
John Williams Esq. (died 1765)
William Williams Esq. (died 1774)
Robert Williams Esq. (1743-1799)
Jonet Williams Esq. (1746-1822)
Mary Williams (1760-1833)

David married Jane Jones 1769-1834 on June 18 1792 at St. Peblig's Parish church at Llanbeblig.

The couple produced the following children:

Anne Williams (1793-1865)
Dr. Edward Williams Esq. (1794-1848)
John Williams Esq. (1797-1846)
David Williams Esq., MP (1799-1869)
Margaret Williams (1801-1879)
Robert Williams Esq., (1804-1869)
Jane Williams (1808- )
Mary Wynne Williams (1812- 1854)
Dr. Abraham Jones Williams Esq., (1812-1887)

In an excellent article published as Transactions of the Caernarfonshire Historical Society 1968 David and Jane's memorial is said to be located just to the left of the Chapel's main entrance.
