DEATH OF FRANK BROWN
With deep regret we note the death of Mr. Frank Brown, a former well known citizen of this county, which occurred at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ann Barnett, in Waynoka, Oklahoma, on January 16, 1927, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 17 days. He had been in failing health for some time.
The remains were brought to Chariton, arriving here Tuesday night, and on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock largely attended funeral services, conducted by Rev. Geo. Crissman, under the auspices of the Masonic Order, were held at the M. E. church, after which interment took place in the Oxford cemetery.
Frank Brown was born in Fulton county, Illinois, on October 29, 1854. When but four years of age he came with his parents to Lucas county, Iowa, where he lived until four years ago, when he went to Oklahoma to make his home with his sister. During his residence in this county of over sixty years he had won the esteem of all who knew him by his many splendid qualities and his genial and courteous manners. He had a host of friends who are greatly saddened by the news that he has passed away, and who will extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones.
He is survived by two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Oscar Slater, Mrs. Wesley Moore, James C. and Thos. N. Brown, all of this county, and Richard Brown, of Cheyenne, Wyoming. One sister, Mrs. John White, and one brother, Charles Brown, preceded him in death.
