Survivors include four sons, John Day of Morgantown and Gary Day, Dean Fleener and Bill Fleener, all of Franklin; three daughters, Linda Colburn of Franklin, Lariann Wiseman of Trafalgar and Debbie Lynch of Dubois; a brother, Mickey Fleener of Mooresville; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Wayne Fleener; two brothers, Homer and Maurice Fleener; a sister, Louise Buechele; and two granddaughters.
He attended Morgantown schools. He was employed by Franklin Police Department as a dispatcher for 17½ years, retiring in 1989. He was one of the first police reservists for the city of Franklin. He enjoyed stock car racing, fishing and deer hunting. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Services were entrusted to Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home of Franklin, Indiana.
