G. C. Martin, Jr., 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. General Clarence Martin, died at a Bowie hospital following an operation for appendicitis. The body was brought to Alvord by Undertaker Rhyne and funeral services were held at the Assembly of God Church Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. J. E. Inlow.

He enjoyed living in the country with family and working on the family dairy farm.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Martin. The young man is survived by his parents and a large family of brothers and sisters. ( Oscar, Lora, Flora, Cora, Inez, Raymond, Joyce, Ernest, Bernice, Irene, and Harold Martin.)

The family lives on the Jess Elrod place, about a mile and a half southeast of Alvord, on the Fort Worth highway.
