James Deft: Mr. James "Jim" Delk. 73, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk. Mr. Delk was a native of Isle of Wight County and was retired from Smithfleld Packing Co. after 35 years. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Smithfield.
He was widower of late Luella Adams Delk and the son of the late Decatur and Jennie Johnson Delk. Survivor include one daughter. Ms. Dianne Delk of Smith field; four sisters. Mrs. Julia Lock and Ms. Frances Delk both of Phil, Pa.. Mrs. Dorothy Wilkerson and Mrs. Gertrude D. Boothe both of Smithfleld; two brothers, George Delk and John Delk both of Smithfleld.
A funeral was held on Saturday. Nov. 5, at 1 1 a.m. in the Main Street Baptist Church. Rev. James Johnson officiated. Burial was ' Henry Tynes Memorial Cemetery.
