He was elected surveyor of timber & plank 1753-5,1758, hogreave 1764,1765. He was warned out of Braintree in 1792 after its separation from Quincy. Lived at Braintree Neck, now Quincy Point, was taxed in Quincy 1798-1800 only.

S.D.124-44: John Field & Susanna & Gilford Field & Bethiah sell to brother William Field all interest in estate of father William Field, Apr.12,1773. Wit: Daniel Arnold, Sarah Field.

No 8 S at To either of the Constables of the Town of Braintree in said County Greeting You are in the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts directed to warn and give Notice unto Amasa Wade and Lott Wade both of Weymouth also Elisha Nash of said Weymouth and Millia Pratt in said County

and Gilford Field* of the Town of Quincy of said County

& Levi Humphrey a transient man and Lydia Mackmurfey of Abington with their families who have lately come into this Town for the purpose of abiding therein not haveing obtained the Towns consent therefor that they the said Amasa and Lott Wade Nash & Field and Humphry with their children Depart the limets thereof with the others under their care within fifteen days and with this precept with your doings thereon you are to make Return into the Office of the Clerk of said Town within twenty days next comeing that such further proceedings may be had in the premises as the Law Directs Given under our hands and Seal at Braintree this eighth day of June Anno Domini One Thousand seven hundred and ninety two Caleb Hayward Samuel Bass Selectmen Suffolk ss Braintree June 21 1792 Pursuant to the within warrant I have warned all the within named Persons to depart the Limets of this Town as within directed f James Holbrook Constable True Copy Examined Ebenr Thayer junr Town Clerk
