Lieutenant,USN- Retired Navy with 20 Years and 25 Days. Served as Commanding Officer LST-6 Tank Landing Ship during the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1946. Awarded Bronze Star for going ashore during Normandy invasion and bringing some wounded soldiers to safety.

Enlisted on Nov 22, 1927 at Louisville, KY, was a Chief, and then commissioned as an officer on July 15, 1942 as a Lt. and was the first CO of the new ship LST-6. Retired on Dec 7, 1948.
