MONTICELLO - William Gobel "Crip" Franklin, 72, former Monticello resident, died at 4 PM Sunday, Feb. 4 1973, in the home of a daughter, at Rockfield; he had been in ill health for six years.

Mr. Franklin, a native of Campbellsville, KY, was born July 25, 1900. He moved to Monticello early in life and lived here until moving to Rockfield three years ago. He retired in 1965 from the RCA plant. In 1929, he was married to Virginia Scott, who died in 1970.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Luddy of Rockfield, with whom he resided, and Mrs. Lyle Abbott of Monticello; a son, Gene Franklin of Monon; and two brothers, Benjamin Franklin of Granada Hills, CA, and George Franklin of Shelbyville. The body will be returned here for services.
