Funeral services were conducted at the Chambers Funeral Home, Riverdale, for Mr. G. VIRGIL STROUP, of 4908 Queensbury Road, Riverdale, a native and former resident of near Myersville, who died Friday, June 22, at George Washington University Hospital, Washington, DC after an illness of about five weeks.

He was 60 years of age, having been born June 5, 1913. He was a son of the late J. Ord and Annie B. (Routzahn) Stroup, well known residents of Middletown Valley.

He had been employed with Capital Transit Company, Washington, DC, for 32 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Washington, DC.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louise M. (Cramer) Stroup, formerly of Middletown; son, George Virgil Stroup, Jr., Dunkirk; daughter, Mrs. Martha Drennen, Ellicott City; four grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Mrs. Madelene Ahalt, Willard R. Stroup, Manorville, Long Island, NY; G. Spangler Stroup, Myersville; Ellis H. Stroup, Laurel; Mrs. Rachel Davis, Rockville; Mrs. Naomi Hayes, Gaithersburg; James A. Stroup, Astoria, Ore.; Mrs. Lucille Hood, Frederick; and Paul B. Stroup, Middletown.

Graveside services were held at Middletown Lutheran Cemetery.
