Richard L. “Dick” VanBlaricome, 83, of Davenport, died Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Davenport Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 1:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Born on September 10, 1932 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of George and Lena (Veach) VanBlaricome. On October 18, 1952, he married Anita Chapin.

Dick served his country in the United States Army from 1953 – 1955. He retired from LaFarge Cement Company in Buffalo with 15 years of service. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and camping. Dick was a member of Risen Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Anita; sons, Jamie (Jerri) VanBlaricome of Davenport and Scott (Jo) VanBlaricome of Moline; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tom; and eight brothers and sisters.
