MCFARLAND — Barkley E. Aaroen, age 62, of 2544 Evans Rd., died on Monday, December 4, 1989, at his residence.

He was born in McFarland, on June 21, 1927, the son of Andrew and Sadie (Titus) Aaroen. In 1947 he married the former Violet Lee. She preceded him in death in 1982. In July of 1986 he married the former Rachel Julson. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marine; and for many years operated an excavating company in the McFarland area. He was a member of the McFarland Lutheran Church and the McFarland American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Rachel; a daughter; two sons; two step-daughters; ten grandchildren; his mother, Sadie Aaroen of McFarland; and a brother, Robert (Pat) of McFarland. Besides his father and his wife, Violet, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry; and a brother, Ronald.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 1989, at 11:00 a.m. at the MCFARLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, with The Reverend Thomas Smrcka officiating. Burial will be in the McFarland Cemetery with military
graveside rites.
