Coy George Potter

Coy George Potter, 84, of Mustang, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 in Norman, OK. Mr. Potter was born Oct. 24, 1922 in Willow, OK to Willis and Anna (Manning) Potter. He moved from Pampa, TX to Yukon in 1984. He served in the US Army-Air Corp. during WWII as a staff sergeant. He was also a graduate of Dale Carnegie Courses. He was a member of Ranchwood Church of Christ in Mustang. He worked as an evangelist and served as an elder in the Church of Christ where he enjoyed conducting gospel meetings and numerous singing schools. Mr. Potter is preceded in death by his parents; first wife LaVerne Potter; son Sammy Ken Potter; second wife Sybil Hudson Potter; great granddaughter Lillian Elizabeth Potter; and 9 brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughter Sherry Potter-Jefferies of Mustang; daughter-in-law Donna Potter of Mustang; brother, Mac Potter and wife Wanda of Fort Worth, TX; sisters, Florence Arman and husband Bob of Grants Pass, OR, and Johnnie Mae Skalisky of Granite, OK; sister-in-law Fay Potter of Dumas, TX; grandchildren Beau Jones and wife Evelyn, Jason Potter and wife Andrea, Heather Shields and husband Kevin, Jessica Potter, Ian Jones and wife Toyah, and Candace Jefferies; and 9 great grandchildren. Extended family includes Dennis and Peggy Hudson, Jeff and Mary Beth Hudson, and Brad and Lisa Hudson, and their families. Services will be held Sat. Oct. 28, 2006 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Smith and Turner Mortuary with burial on Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 at 1 PM at Memory Gardens in Pampa, TX.
