He had four younger brothers and three younger sisters. He was married to Eunice Sherman. Samuel passed away on Oct 13, 1779 in his hometown of Norwalk having lived a long life of 80 years. He was laid to rest next to his beloved wife Eunice who had died in 1762. As you can see his Tombstone has been engulfed by the growth of a nearby tree over the decades.
