Laurel Brunson Accidentally Shoots Self
Laurel Brunson, 21 year old son of Mr and Mrs Wells Brunson suffered an accidental gunshot wound of extremely serious nature last Monday evening.
He had been hunting rabbits near the Arthur Brunson farm with a 22 caliber rifle and in placing the gun in his car he apparently had attempted to push it butt forward onto the car seat when it discharged, the slug striking him in the upper abdomen and coursing upward, lodging near the back bone.
He attempted to drive his car to town but after going a short way up the old field lane he had stopped his car. Mr and Mrs Adrian Davies found him and brought him to the Fillmore Hospital where he received medical aid. He is reported as "holding his own at best."
