JOHN L. BRUNSON DIES AFTER LONG PERIOD OF ILLNESS
Last Thursday evening, December 6, John L. Brunson died after a period of acute illness of over fourteen months. Up until the time of his being stricken with cancer in an acute form, some fourteen months ago, Mr. Brunson had enjoyed the very best of health and had been one of Fillmore's strongest and most industrious citizens. For the past fourteen months, however, he has been confined to his bed and has been in a very helpless condition. The whole community will long remember John L. Brunson as the honest, industrious and beloved citizen that he was and extends its heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family.
Mr. Brunson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jane Brunson and four children, Alma, Clarence, George and Mrs. William Allen.
Mr. Brunson was born at Fillmore in the year 1865. He is the son of Cathern and Lewis Brunson. His father and mother were pioneers to this community and were staunch believers in the local dominant church. John L. Brunson was reared a firm believer in the Church of Latter-Day Saints and it can be said of him that he lived his religion throughout his entire life. Funeral services were held in the Fillmore Ward Chapel Saturday, December 8. The speakers were Grover A. Giles, Rufus Day and Wm. D. Melville. Interment was in the Fillmore Cemetery.
Son of Lewis (Louis) Brunson (1831-1888)
and Catherine Keaton Carling (1835-1915)
Married Emma Jane Willden Nov 11 1887 in the St George Temple.
