Herman Floyd Maynard, age 82, of Doyle, TN passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013.
He was born May 30, 1931 in DeKalb County, Tennessee to Toy and Mertie Clouse Maynard.
He moved to Indiana at the age of 19 and worked for 31 years at United States Steel/Gary Works as the Dock Foreman, only missing one day of work until his retirement in 1986 which brought him back home to Tennessee.
Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Reba Selby, Mildred Qualls, Ralph Maynard and son Wayne Floyd Maynard.
Survivors include wife of 61 years, Gwendolyn Joyce Maynard, sons, Johnny Lee Maynard and David Charles Maynard, daughters, Debra Ann Lumbardy and husband, the late Melvin Lumbardy, Quintina Maria Clouse, Sarah Louise Clouse and husband Ron Clouse, Sharon Kay Pierce and husband Eric Pierce. Thirteen grandbabies, 11 great-grandbabies and sister Helen Williams.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services at Thurman Funeral Home, Friday, October 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Clouse Cemetery.
