Son of Edward McKenna of Castle Nacor, in the parish of Fahaw, County Donegal, Ireland.

Hon. William McKenna, former Senator from Lancaster District. Anna McKenna Mittag was his only daughter and only child.

On July 14, 1906, Lancaster News Surveyor Belk is engaged in surveying an extension eastward of Arch St. He says the proposed extension of street will not touch any grave in the Catholic cemetery. Most all of the Catholic cemetery graves were members of William McKenna family or family servants including his daughter Anna and her husband Dr. J.F.G. Mittag. The individual graves were removed to Westside Cemetery from where they were buried in what is called the Catholic Grove. William McKenna is buried in the Roman Catholic Church graveyard on Assembly Street in Columbia.
