Hon. William McKenna, former Senator from Lancaster District. Anna McKenna Mittag was his only daughter and only child.
On July 14, 1906, Lancaster News Surveyor Belk is engaged in surveying an extension eastward of Arch St. He says the proposed extension of street will not touch any grave in the Catholic cemetery. Most all of the Catholic cemetery graves were members of William McKenna family or family servants including his daughter Anna and her husband Dr. J.F.G. Mittag. The individual graves were removed to Westside Cemetery from where they were buried in what is called the Catholic Grove. William McKenna is buried in the Roman Catholic Church graveyard on Assembly Street in Columbia.

1850 US Census - Lancaster, SC stated he was born in Ireland and was 60 years of age.
1860 US Census - Salve Schedule - showed numerous slaves of Deceased Wm McKenna

2nd: Anna Cousart - married in 1804
3rd: Ellen Quigley survived him - married in 1852
Note: His obit stated that his age is not accurately, known, but supposed to have been about eighty-two years of age at time of his death.
