Memorial services were held Friday in First Baptist Church for James Page Goodwin, 81, who died June 26 in his home at 507 SW Sixth St., following a short illness.

Rev. Weldon McCormick of Midland and Rev. Bert Dominy of the First Baptist Church officiated. Burial followed at West Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of the Dennis Funeral Home.

Mr. Goodwin was born Aug. 2, 1885 in Bluntsville, Ala. He farmed in Sweetwater, Okla., for 50 years before retiring and moving to Dimmitt 16 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Vulla; six sons, P.O. of Dimmitt, James H. of Kaysville, Utah, Johnny L. of El Paso, Doyle Gene of Lubbock, A.W. Fowler of El Paso and Vancil R. Fowler of Carlsbad; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Wilson of Logan, Okla., Mrs. Alma Kenmore of Dimmitt, Mrs. Faye Sutton of Cheyenne, Okla. and Mrs. Flo Ardrey of Oklahoma City; four sisters; 36 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

His grandsons served as pallbearers.
