Elizabeth Raper Watson died Oct. 14, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. She was born in Kenly, N.C., on July 4, 1920, to the late Robert and Minnie Lee Raper. She was a licensed beautician in the Norfolk area for 45 years, during which time she became close friends with many of her customers. After her retirement, she cared for the needs of many of the elderly in Carolanne Terrace, where she lived. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Zeb F. Watson Jr. in 1983. She is survived by a daughter, Jewel Drinkwater and son-in-law Richard of Tulsa, where she resided for the past year; granddaughter, Candy Debord and husband Kevin of Germantown, Tenn.; and great-grandsons, Richard and Lewis Debord of Germantown. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Childress officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and are greatly appreciated.
