Born Amy Avis Collins on February 25, 1916, in Hacker Valley, WV, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Luverna (Ware) Collins.
Mrs. Snyder was a retired Registered Nurse from the York Hospital. She retired in 1981 with 30 years of service. She was a graduate of Webster Springs High School and received her nurse's training at City Hospital in Elkins, W. Va. She was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Franklin R. Snyder, Sr. of Toms River, N.J., and D. Robert Snyder of Oxford, Miss.; a daughter, Frances K. Shoff of York; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mabel Ware of Sutton, W. Va., Retha Brown of Hookstown, Pa., and Macil Brown of Madisville, W. Va.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters; and four brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Michael W. Langford, Pastor of Messiah United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Percy D. Brown, Visitation Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. A viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
