Helen Cato Stanley, 75 of Haines City, FL passed away Friday May 6, 2016 under the loving care of her family and Hospice in Auburndale, FL. She was born January 10, 1941 to Elizabeth and Robert Bright in Glennwood, GA. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Stanley was retired from Best Manufacturers of Manchester, GA. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed fishing, reading, card games and watching sports, especially football and basketball. She was preceded in death by her son Darrel Roy Stanley, her first husband Vernon G. Cato and second husband Walter Hume Stanley, brothers William and Ronald Bright, sisters Elizabeth Daniel, Lavania and Bobbie Dean Bright. She is survived by three daughters Sheri Turner and husband Ernest of Haines City, FL, Stacey Young of Mt. Dora, FL and Mary Elizabeth Stanley of Brooksville, FL, four sisters; Veida Todd, Lillie McCoy, Evie Wall and Mary Ann Schumacher, two brothers; Grover and Randolph Bright, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 PM on Monday May 9th at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal River with Pastor Paul Jones presiding. Friends and family are invited to visitation from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park Cemetery in Homosassa Springs. Strickland Funeral Home of Crystal River assisted the family with arrangements.
