Dorothy Emma Northup, 93, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born February 8, 1923 in Topeka, the daughter of James and Mary (Braun) Baker.

Dorothy graduated from Highland Park High School. She was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad in the business office and later became a homemaker. She was a member of the West Side Christian Church.

Dorothy married William Ira Northup in May 14, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded in death by seven siblings.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Northup of Orlando, Florida, Bruce (Karen) Northup of Topeka, four grandchildren, Tonya (Aaron) Anton, Jason (Kelly) Northup, Richard Northup and Travis (Kelly) Northup all of Kansas City, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Donald Baker of Kansas City and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, Kansas 66506.
