Clarence M. Campbell, 79, of North Platte died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte. The Rev. Hawley from First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, with military honors
graveside.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until service time at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte.

Mr. Campbell was born June 27, 1924, at Grand Island to Clarence and Winnie (Dillon) Campbell.

Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Bart and Sharon Campbell of Longmont, Colo, and four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Phyllis Campbell, Shirley and Chester McKinney, Joan Smith, Carol and Gene Knuth, all of Grand Island.

Other survivors include three grandsons, Nickolas, Brady, and Brett Campbell, and a great-grandson, Wesley Campbell.

Mr. Campbell graduated from Grand Island High School and later served in the United States Army from 1943 until his discharge in 1945.

He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Johnson March 20, 1947. They moved in 1959 from Grand Island to North Platte, where he was employed by Fairacres Dairy as a route supervisor. He later worked for Wheelers for a number of years.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion, and the B.P.O. Elks.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998; and three brothers, Conrad, Paul, and Thomas.
