Joe L. Langley, 71, of Laurel, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakland Grove Baptist Church in Jones County. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Jones and the Rev. Macon Phillips will officiate. He was a retired logger and member of Oakland Baptist Church in Jones County. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Langley and Pete Langley. Mr. Langley is survived by his wife, Lunette Hodge Langley of Laurel; four sons, Willis Frankin Langley, and Joe Pat Langley, both of Laurel, J. L. Langley of Heidelberg, and Charles Michael Langley, of Laurel; four sisters, Doris Langley Hodge, Blanche Langley Gatlin, Bernice Langley Tanner and Annice Langley Holifield, all of Laurel; a brother, Leonard Langley of Laurel; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert Brannon, Larry Motes, Mike Jones, Jimmy Morris, Doye Lindsey, and Robert Kent Hodge. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. today at Mr. Langley's residence, 249 Charlie Green Road, Laurel. Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of the arrangements.
