Esther Elizabeth Wagner, 92, died April 12, 2016, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 1, 1924, in rural Harvey County, to Jacob and Marie (Friesen) Stucky.

She received a degree in cosmetology and after graduation worked as a hairdresser for Wiley's and Pegues in Hutchinson in the 1950's and 60's. Later, she and her husband Charlie purchased and operated Wagner Memorial Company for 25 years before her retirement in 1984. They were residents of Hutchinson since 1955.

On Aug. 13, 1950, she married Charles Wagner in Hutchinson. He died Oct. 10, 2002.

Survivors include: son, Charles Wagner and wife Viki, Springdale, Ark.; daughter, Marsha Roszel and husband Lynn, Wylie Texas; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and sisters, Amanda Nightingale, Halstead, and Linda Evans, Portland, Ore. She was preceded in death by: her husband; brothers, Albert, Harold, Eldo, and Richard Stuckey; sisters, Frieda Pauls and Nahida Miller.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Christian Church or Wesley Towers Thorne Care Center, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
