Barbara Vickers passed away April 8, 2016. At her request, no funeral services will be held.

Ms. Vickers was born March 15, 1955, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Robert Earl Allen and Mary Dell (Allen) Shipp. She had lived in Pearl and worked for many years as a retail clerk for Walgreens, most recently in Richland. She enjoyed reading and had a strong interest in lighthouses and their history and conservation.

Ms. Vickers was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Dell Shipp, and her sister, Donna Whitley.

Ms. Vickers is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Vickers (Ruth) of Columbia, Missouri; her grandchildren, Diana, Zoe and Victor Maddox of Raeford, North Carolina; her father, Robert Allen (De) of Ocala, Florida; her sister, Wanda Ganzerla of Brandon, Mississippi; a nephew; and niece and her great-niece, Kaylee Hooper. Memorials may be made to the American Lighthouse Foundation, P.O. Box 565, Rockland, ME 04841.
