Mary Dell Tanner Shipp, 90, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at Merit Health-Rankin. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at Pearl United Methodist Church with burial following in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Ms. Shipp was born on June 15, 1925, in Minter City, MS; the daughter of the late Luther and Offie Tanner. A long time resident of Pearl, she was a faithful member of Pearl United Methodist Church. Ms. Shipp enjoyed cooking, gardening, listening to gospel music and watching the Atlanta Braves. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Allen Whitley; brothers, Charles Douglas Tanner, James Tanner, William Tanner; twin sister, Ruby Nell Barber and grandson, Richard Scott Whitley.

Survivors include: daughters, Wanda Ganzerla of Brandon; Barbara L. Vickers of Pearl; grandchildren, Robert Carson Whitley (Lynn) of Pearl; Stephanie Vickers (Ruth) of Columbia, MO; Elizabeth Hooper (Jason) of Brandon, numerous step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Pearl United Methodist Church, 226 S. Pearson Road, Pearl, MS 39208.
