Earl W. Voss passed away on April 7, 2016 at Chester County Hospital.

He was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Earl and Myrtle Voss. Earl was a graduate of Claymont High School and West Chester University where he captained the Basketball and Baseball Teams. He made the Semi-Pro Baseball All Star Team 3 times and was an All-State Basketball Player having led the state in scoring. He received his Master's Degree from Temple University. He taught school and coached basketball and baseball at Claymont High School and Wilmington High School.

Earl was also a professor and Head Basketball Coach at both Bloomsburg University and West Chester University for over 25 years. He compiled West Chester's best seasonal record in basketball and founded the West Chester University Basketball Hall of Fame. Earl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and played for the Korean Basketball All-Star Team. He was an avid boater and enjoyed restoring antique wooden boats.

Earl is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret "Peggy" Voss, his children, Robert W. Voss and his wife Kelly, John E. Voss and his wife Cathy and his grandchildren, William, James, Madeline and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Voss.

Friends may call Wednesday April 13, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202 South of Silverside Road) Wilmington, DE 19803 where a service will follow on Thursday April 14th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Society.
